Repairs and Service
Are you tired of mobility companies that want to sell equipment but don’t want to repair it? Not only does Mr. Mobility repair and service equipment Mr. Mobility sold, but Mr. Mobility gladly repair equipment sold by other providers as well! Mr. Mobility can ship parts nationwide and Mr. Mobility can provide service calls within our local service area (All of NJ, NYC & Suburbs, Long Island, Eastern PA, and Northern DE). Mr. Mobility work with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance for reimbursement for repairs.
Medicare Reimbursement for Repairs
Medicare will cover parts and labor needed to repair medically necessary, patient owned medical equipment up to the cost of replacement of the equipment. Generally, this means that if Medicare originally purchased the equipment, they will cover repairs on it and if Medicare did not cover the purchase of the equipment, they would not cover repairs on that piece of equipment. Medicare does not require a new prescription or physician’s order for repairs. Medicare pays for repairs only on the equipment they most recently purchased for you. If the equipment is being rented, the equipment is the property of the equipment provider and you would need to contact that provider for repairs.
If your equipment needs to come into our shop for repair, Medicare will cover a temporary replacement (rental). The Medicare allowable for the temporary replacement is based on one months’ rental for the equipment in the shop for repair.
As with all other medical equipment, Medicare pays 80% of the Medicare allowable amount after the Medicare deductible is met for replacement parts, labor, and, if needed, a rental. The remaining 20% is the coinsurance which may be fully or partially covered by you secondary insurer. You will be responsible for paying any part of the coinsurance not covered by your secondary insurance. Mr. Mobility will verify your Medicare and secondary insurance eligibility and inform you of any coinsurance amount not covered by you secondary insurance. If Mr. Mobility prequalifies you for Medicare reimbursement, Mr. Mobility can bill Medicare directly for the repairs.
Medicare does not cover shipping and handling or repairs to equipment accessories non-covered by Medicare such as cup holders, cane/walker holders or power elevating seats. If you have any questions about Medicare coverage for repairs, please call us at (800)555-2909.
Private Insurance and Medicaid Reimbursement for Repairs
Mr. Mobility can also work with Medicaid and private insurers for coverage of repairs. Mr. Mobility will verify your eligibility with your insurer or Medicaid and inform you of what the coverage is for repairs under your plan. Your insurance company or Medicaid may require a prescription for the repairs and may require prior authorization.
Medicaid and most, if not all, insurance companies do not cover shipping and handling. If you have any questions about private insurance or Medicaid coverage for repairs, please call us at (800)555-2909
